Communication Skills for Carers
Communication is at the heart of patient/client care whether it be at home receiving home care or in the hospital. Interpreting situations and using appropriate communication skills is essential in all situations. However, when faced with a person who has communication issues or cognitive decline there is an even higher duty of care to ensure communication is clear and appropriate.

A core component of this course is the interactive aspect of delivery combined with the practical application of skills learned in role play scenarios where the tutor gets participants working in small groups and presents different real life scenarios for participants to consider and act out that they may come across in real life. This aspect is enjoyable but also a great way to learn.
