How it works

How Our Physiotherapy Works

Getting started is simple. Here is what you can expect from your first appointment through to recovery:

Assessment

Your first appointment is a relaxed, one-to-one consultation with one of our chartered physiotherapists. We take the time to listen to your symptoms, understand your history, and learn what you want to get back to, then carry out a physical assessment to build a clear picture of what is going on.

Personalised Care Plan

Based on your assessment, your physiotherapist will explain what they have found in plain, straightforward language and put together a care plan built around you. This sets out your goals, the approach we will take, and a realistic timeframe so you know exactly what to expect from the outset.

Treatment

Depending on your condition, your treatment may be resolved in a small number of focused sessions or may follow a structured course of ongoing rehabilitation. Each session combines hands-on therapy with guided exercise, always targeting the root cause of your problem rather than just the symptoms.

Home Exercise Plan and Follow-Ups

Between sessions, you will be given a clear and manageable home exercise programme to keep your recovery on track. We review and update this at each follow-up as you progress, making sure the plan continues to work for you at every stage.

Ongoing Prevention

Once you have reached your goals, we do not just send you on your way. Your physiotherapist will equip you with the knowledge and tools to stay well, prevent recurrence, and maintain the progress you have made, so you can get on with life feeling your best.

Why Choose Physiotherapy at Link Healthcare?

Integrated with GP and diagnostic services

Our physiotherapy team works alongside our GPs and diagnostic scanning service, making internal referrals and shared clinical communication straightforward. You benefit from quicker access to the right investigations and a more joined-up approach to your care.

Option to continue care at home

Through our established home-care service, patients who are unable to attend the clinic, or who need support during recovery, can access physiotherapy-guided rehabilitation at home. This is particularly valuable for older adults, those recovering from surgery, or patients with complex needs.

Evidence-based, exercise-focused rehabilitation

We focus on approaches that have a strong evidence base, centred on active rehabilitation, self-management, and exercise, rather than passive treatments that provide only short-term relief. Our goal is lasting improvement, not a quick fix.

Clear, personalised care plans

We take the time to explain your diagnosis in plain language, set realistic and meaningful goals with you, and provide a home exercise plan that fits around your life. You will always know what to expect and why we are recommending a particular approach.

Convenient access in Cork

Our clinic is based in Ballincollig and offers appointments at times that suit working adults and families. We aim to keep waiting times short and offer a straightforward booking process online or by phone.

Transparent pricing and insurance support

We offer clear, upfront pricing and work with most major private health insurers. Please contact us or check our fees page for current details, we are happy to help clarify your cover before your first appointment.
